The nature of a earth in the middle of water is absolutely strange and
swarming with life. Chioggia opens out with a perspective of the
buildings in Corso del Popolo, here start narrow streets that go beyond
the channels. You can chose different routes : the cultural, seeing the
churches, monuments and museum of art and ethnography; the
naturalistic, visiting the Tegnùe, paradise of the scuba-divers; or
walking couriously to discover the little artisan shops, the "taverne"
with the scent of home cooking and the capitals lit by small candles. If
you enjoy to come back into the past you can't miss the recalling of the
war between Venetian and Genovesi in the Palio della Marciliana and
in the joy of the flag-waver when they announced the victory of Venice
Republic.
Chioggia and Sottomarina are charming in the evening with all their

events is packed full of things to do and there's certainly no risk of
getting bored. Good possibilities for touristic and cultural excursions to
the near Venice and the islands of the lagoon, the "delta" of the Po
river, the church of Pomposa, the "Riviera del Brenta", the cities of
Padova, Vicenza, Verona..........
